I got as far as step one! Do i need to download something before i run this C:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts Please help a noobie!

You have to have admin access to the computer, too. I tried it, but it said I cannot save to that directory (in XP Pro) because I don’t have admin access.

websites like myspace will have multiple Ip’s. This is called load balancing. If you use any one of these IPs it should work.

For example when I did the google website, I picked one of several.

72.14.207.99
64.233.187.99

Any one of these should work

I tried this with myspace, but it didn’t work. I pinged myspace.com a few times, and the IP address changed.

please note that this only works if you(or the person) are using internet explorer.

it wont work with firefox
