In this world of mutlitasking there really isn’t any time to waste. Your boss wants this, your friend needs that and your mom still wants you to fix that vcr, so what can you do? Well you shouldn’t be wasting time clicking every little thing on your screen with your mouse. Shortcut keys help reduce time and impress the ladies.
Here is a list of shortcut keys that you should know and use.
The Basics
Ctrl + S will save the active document
Ctrl+ P will print the active document
Ctrl+O will open a new document
Ctrl+C well copy the selected item, i.e. text
Ctrl+V will paste what ever is on the clipboards
Ctrl+Z will undo what you last did
Web browsing short cuts
For browsers with tabbed browsing press ctrl + T to add a new tap.
To skip through tabs with out selecting each one individually use Ctrl +Tab to skip to the right or ctrl + shift + tab to skip to the left
Ctrl +D adds the website you are currently on to your bookmarks. I recommend doing that right now :: WINK ::
Backspace ya I know its one key, but backspace can be use to go well BACK to the previous page on a website. Much faster that click the arrow.
Ctrl + N will open a new instance of the same web page in a new browser. Because some times I like to see my website all over the place.
Ctrl + + will increase the size of the font on your browser. Ctrl + - will decrease the font size. Great for when you get old.
Windows short cuts
Windows key + D will minimize all windows or maximize all windows. This is a great trick for when your boss walks up and you are playing your Nintendo emulator.
Windows + L will lock your computer. This is the one you should never forget, especially if your co-workers read this site. Don’t want to leave your computer open to attacks
Windows key + E will open up my computer.
Random Short Cuts
Alt + tab will cycle through your open programs
Alt + Esc will select the items you have open in the order you opened them
There are countless others but these are some of the simple ones I use almost every day. Try them out for your self, you might save enough time to play another round of mini golf on newgrounds.
